Twenty will be offered for sale at $100,000
(approx. £60,000) each. One, the first, will go to the winner of a raffle
in Cuba to raise unds for Medical Relief, the draw or which will take place at
The Dinner of the Millennium in Havana n Friday 26th February 1999.
The humidor contains 2,000 cigars from 20 Habanos brands.
The selection for each brand includes at least one rare size, not on the market
at present, some of which have not been made for many years like the Partagas
Salomon No.2 (6 3/4" 56 ring gauge) and the Punch Diademas Extra (9
1/4" x 47 ring gauge).
Designed by Sr. Orlando Corzo of Gerencia Rites in Havana,
each humidor is crafted by hand from natural cedar and contains a new
humidifying system that delivers cool moist air to keep the cigars in perfect
condition.
The $100,000 price covers all costs of delivery including
freight, insurance, duties and taxes to an address of the recipient's choice
anywhere in the world outside the USA.
Its a lot of money to pay for a humidor. But, when you
consider some of the prices that Habanos SA's limited editions have made
recently at auction, like the £15,000 paid for just 50 cigars in a 500th
Anniversary Humidor, it could prove to be an investment.
